Dr Tsalavouta has been working as a psychologist since completing her Masters degree in Psychotherapy in 2005. Dr Tsalavouta's approach in therapy is integrative. She mostly uses CBT approach but also psychodynamic approach as her background studies are in psychodynamic therapy.
She has worked in the private therapy sector in the Priory in Roehampton in the past and in the NHS sector for IAPT services.
She recently completed her training in Dialectical Behavioural therapy (DBT) and she is interested in working with Borderline and other Personality Disorders. Dr Tsalavouta is the Coordinator of the DBT team and I do assessments, she co –facilitates the DBT skills group and see's patients for 1-1 DBT sessions.
Dr Tsalavouta's facilitates a few other groups in the working week such as depression, worry, self-acceptance, and mixed diagnosis CBT group.
Dr Tsalavouta has a special interest in working with patients with traumatic experiences such as abuse, rape or PTSD. She also offers online therapy and her research during her doctorate was in the therapeutic relationship in online therapy.
