Dr Renju Joseph is a consultant psychiatrist at the Dudley and Walsall Mental Health NHS Partnership Trust and Clinical Tutor for the Black Country Training Scheme. He was a clinical director in Dudley for six years until he stepped down last year to focus more on clinical work and train junior doctors. He is a highly skilled general adult psychiatrist with special interest in adult ADHD, adult autistic spectrum disorders, anxiety related conditions, depression, bipolar illness, OCD, alcohol related problems and mental health issues related to work stress and relationship problems. He has received Clinical Excellence awards from the NHS in recognition of his achievements as a consultant.
Dr Joseph is a GMC appointed medical examiner and medical supervisor for their fitness to practice proceedings. He is also an approved examiner for the Royal College of Psychiatrist's membership (MRCPsych) examination. In addition to clinical and academic work, he is interested in mental health law and he is a Specialist Medical Member of the First tier Tribunal, assigned to the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber, to exercise the Mental Health jurisdiction within the chamber.
