Dr Nimmagadda completed his higher specialist training in Forensic Psychiatry at Reaside Clinic, Birmingham, Hatherton Centre Stafford, and Rampton Hospital.
He became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2000 as elected as a Fellow of the College in 2011. He has a diploma in Psychological Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a Post Graduate Degree, Master of Medical Science in Clinical Psychiatry, from the University of Leeds. He also holds a Masters degree in Mental Health Law - LL.M, obtained from the University of Northumbria.
He has published original research on the subject of –‘Determinants of irritability in Huntington’s disease’.
He has been employed as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at Thornford Park, Priory Group, since July 2004. He has been the Medical Director for Thornford Park since September 2011.
His specialist areas of expertise are -
- Assessment and treatment of mentally disordered offenders.
- Rehabilitation of elderly and physically frail mentally disordered offenders.
- Providing expert evidence to the Courts on psychiatric issues.
