Dr. Shehram Moghul qualified from Southampton Medical School in 1994 and completed his training working in all the local major centres including Southampton, Salisbury, Poole, Bournemouth, Winchester, Basingstoke and Portsmouth. He thus has a first-hand knowledge of services in the area.
He took up his Consultant post in Southampton in 2003 and is currently a Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist at Southampton General Hospital.
He is on the Board of Examiners at the Royal College of Psychiatrists and is an examiner for the General Medical Council (GMC) and was previously also a Medical Member of the Tribunal Service for the Ministry of Justice serving for six years.
Dr. Moghul has been lecturing and teaching at Southampton University Medical School since 2004 and has had several publications in peer reviewed journals mostly in the field of Alzheimer’s Disease.
He is on the specialist register of the GMC for both General and Old Age Psychiatry. He regularly treats all the main psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, alcohol problems and psychosis.
He has a particular expertise in memory problems including dementia (e.g. Alzheimer’s Disease).
He lives in Otterbourne and is married with three children.
