Dr Khan qualified in 1990. She has significant experience in the field of psychiatry since 1997 having trained in Greater Manchester. For the last 5 years she has been a general adult consultant at south Manchester with teaching links to the University of Manchester including teaching of medical students and training of junior doctors. She has extensive experience in the management of chronic enduring mental health problems. Prior to her role in the NHS, she was a consultant at the specialist eating disorders unit at the Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal. Currently Dr Khan provides clinical leadership to the specialist team in south Manchester responsible for managing acute mental health crisises. She has a wealth of experience in managing transcultural issues related to mental health.
