Janette Rodriguez joined Priory Group in 2015 as a trainee therapist at Priory Hospital Chelmsford, within their day care team. After completing her Master’s degree, her role changed to cognitive behavioural therapist. She utilises theoretical approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Integrative Approach.

Since working at Priory, Janette worked on the inpatient unit from 2015 to 2018, running groups that included CBT basic skills, creative group and assertiveness skills. She has also been trained at Priory in DBT, here she runs groups alongside another therapist.

Training

Janette Rodriguez graduated from the University of South Florida in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences with a Psychology degree.  During her studies, she worked in a variety of private treatment centres. She then moved to England in 2009 where she studied at the University of East London where she completed a Master of Science in Psychology. She then completed her Master of Science (2016) in an approved programme in Counselling Psychology. During her masters, she undertook work experience in a variety of settings including, an NHS mental health ward, college setting and non-profit organizations. She learned many different theoretical approaches which has allowed her to work with a variety of clients.

Janette has been a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) since 2010. She is also a member of the British Association for Behavioral & Cognitive Psychotherapist (BABCP) since 2005 and is in the process of being accredited.

I am a motivated individual with professional work ethics, who and continues to challenge myself where I can to progress in my professional career. I have worked in many different settings that have added diversity to my practical skills and theoretical knowledge. I have an interest in helping others and show them skills to help them cope more effectively and validate themselves.
