Louise Wills

Louise qualified as a psychological therapist within an IAPT service in 2016, specialising in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Prior to this she worked for three years using cognitive behavioural therapy techniques as a psychological wellbeing practitioner (PWP). Louise has worked within an IAPT setting throughout her whole career, which means her training standards have always been to a high quality and she has experience of working with different mental health problems.

Louise also has training in compassion focused therapy (CFT) and has experience in running trans-diagnostic therapy groups.

Her approach is collaborative and empathic; it is about working together and helping the individual explore and learn about their problems which opens them up to thinking about new ways of coping.

Through guided discussions and specific techniques Louise spends her working life helping people learn to cope with depression and anxiety problems. Her professional approach is combined with sincerity, a drive for the individual to make changes, and belief that everyone deserves the chance and would benefit from learning CBT.

She believes that mental health is not a separate entity but something we all experience but for some the degree of severity is higher and a little guidance can go a long way.
