Priory and PiC offer support for a wide variety of patients in Wales, across seven hospitals and six enhanced community homes. This includes:

  • Medium and low secure facilities
  • Locked facilities
  • Rehabilitation and recovery services
  • A unit specialising in neuro rehabilitation, Huntington’s and ABI

Medium secure units

Llanarth Court

  • This facility provides beds for male and female patients, and includes a male personality disorder service
  • The full care pathway offered allows patients to move through to the next stage of their treatment in a timely manner
  • Here there is a focus on physical healthcare and a GP service is available three days a week, supported by a Physical Health team

Low secure services

Llanarth Court

  • This facility provides beds for male patients, and includes a male learning difficulty service and for those over the age of 50
  • The full care pathway offered allows patients to move through to the next stage of their treatment in a timely manner
  • Here there is a focus on physical healthcare and a GP service is available three days a week, supported by a Physical Health team

Ty Catrin

  • This is a low secure hospital which delivers a high quality biopsychosocial model of care for male patients with complex mental disorders including personality disorder
  • The female service offers a highly structured discharge pathway back to the community

Ty Cwm Rhondda

  • This is a low secure service for males with enduring Mental Health and Personality Disorders
  • We expect continued involvement and engagement with local services at every stage of the patient’s pathway. This is particularly important in relation to risk reduction, rehabilitation, social integration and discharge planning
  • Our 12 week Care Planning process supports patients to prioritise their goals and formulate treatment plans to meet their individual needs and recovery

Rehabilitation and Recovery

Abbey House

  • This is a locked service for male patients and has an internal pathway to open step down
  • It implements the Recovery College, and Positive Behaviour Support to deliver greater independence for clients
  • A strong recovery orientated MDT and therapeutic, rural setting whilst being located on the edge of Malvern, providing easy access to community amenities

The Priory Hospital Church Village

  • This is a service for male and female patients with Learning Difficulties and a mental health diagnosis
  • Patients can attend various activities in the local community as well as educational or work programmes
  • A care pathway is accessible, with an onsite bungalow to help prepare patients for return to the community

Enhanced Community Homes

85 Brecon Road

  • This facility provides an experienced, well trained and stable staff team, who use an individualised approach in maintaining quality of life for patients
  • It is located in a quiet residential area, only five minutes’ walk from the small town of Abergavenny, allowing for access to local amenities

Brynawel

  • This is a service for both male and female patients, which provides full MDT and a stable, experienced staff team committed to delivering high standards of care with a person centred approach to support individuals to achieve goals and gain independence
  • Offers an annexe allowing individuals to gain as much independence as possible whilst still being able to access support when required

Ty Ffynu

  • Patients are supported by an effective MDT, experienced in rehabilitation, recovery and caring for patients with complex needs
  • With a wide range of amenities nearby, the home is ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the local community

Avalon

  • This facility is led by a Full MDT with a stable and experienced team who support patients through difficult situations and give opportunities to develop problem solving skills, helping them obtain further independence and social inclusion within the community setting
  • Patients enjoy a diverse timetable of activities of their own choice

Beechley Drive

  • Located in a quiet residential area of Cardiff with a wide range of amenities nearby, the home is ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the local community
  • It is two semi-detached properties, next door to each other, enabling more flexibility in the client group

Princess Street

  • This facility specialises in providing a care pathway out of secure services, for people with a learning difficulty, who have a proven track record of successfully moving people into less supported settings in the community
  • It is led by an MDT, experienced in rehabilitation, recovery and caring for people with complex needs. Patient care is reviewed six weekly in MDT meeting and six monthly CPA reviews

Neuro-rehabilitation

The Priory Mount Eveswell

 

  • This service provides person-centred neuro-rehabilitation programmes that are bespoke to the severity and complexity of a person’s particular neuro-disability
  • Conditions include Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or neuro-degenerative conditions such as Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington’s, or Multiple Sclerosis
  • It recognises families as central to the wellbeing of the patient and they are encouraged to play a key role in goal setting and care planning
