Trevor Torrington – Chief Executive Officer, Priory Group
Trevor became CEO of The Priory Group in 2016 after 7 years as CEO of its healthcare division. Priory runs the largest network of mental healthcare hospitals and clinics in the UK, caring for 30,000 people each year across a range of services including mental health, addictions, adult residential care, and children’s specialist education at 450 sites. Under Trevor’s leadership, the Group has strengthened its role as an inpatient provider for NHS Trusts. It successfully integrated Priory Healthcare with Partnerships in Care and opened its first overseas mental health facility (in Dubai) and its tenth Wellbeing Centre (Harley Street). In 2019 it will open its first specialist school outside the UK, in Abu Dhabi.
Trevor is also a trustee of Disability Initiative.
Dr Sylvia Tang - Chief Executive Officer, Priory Healthcare
Dr Tang joined the Priory Group in 2014 as Group Medical Director, after working for the integrated mental health and social care provider Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust where she was Medical Director from 2006, and Deputy Chief Executive from 2012.
Dr Tang has extensive clinical experience as a general adult psychiatrist, and at both C&I and Priory has been responsible for many areas of clinical and corporate governance. She is a member of the London Clinical Senate Council and NHSE Mental Health Payment Steering Group. She has led on many large scale service changes, implementation of new clinical models and was part of the London Health Commission in 2014.
Nigel Myers - Group Finance Director
Nigel joined the Priory Group in September 2010 and has responsibility for the day to day operation of the finance function.
Nigel is a chartered accountant, having qualifed with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1991. Since leaving PwC in 1996 he has held a number of senior finance roles, most recently as finance director in a small private equity backed company.
James Willis - Chief Executive Officer, Priory Adult Care
Priory’s Adult Care Division is one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist adult care.
Prior to joining the Priory Group in 2012, Jim Willis enjoyed a career in the military, with which he saw service world-wide. During his time in the Army, he had the privilege of leading an operational Infantry Battalion; he taught at the world-renowned officer leadership college, the Roya| Military Academy at Sandhurst; and he held a number of high-profile posts in the Ministry of Defence.
Since joining Priory, Jim has held appointments in the Group’s Healthcare division, including the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director. He was appointed CEO of Priory Adult Care in April 2017 when Craegmoor and Amore Care merged into the Group’s newest operating division.
Simon Coles – Chief Executive Officer, Priory Education and Children’s Services
Simon has over eighteen years of strategic leadership experience within private sector Specialist Education & Children’s Service.
In 1998 Simon developed one of the UK’s first dedicated residential provisions for young people with Asperger Syndrome. In turn, this led to a number of senior leadership roles across specialist provision within the Farleigh Education Group.
In 2002 The Farleigh Education Group became part of Priory Group, the UK’s largest provider of private sector specialist education and behavioural healthcare. Since Priory’s acquisition, Simon has led the growth and development of the company’s SEN & Children’s Services portfolio across numerous strategic roles, including that of Director of Operations.
Within the changing landscapes of specialist education and children’s services Simon is passionate about providing the highest possible outcomes for young people. He continues to shape the direction of the company through the ongoing development of new forward thinking services to meet changing commissioning needs both in the UK and Internationally.
Simon is an Alumni of the Windsor Leadership Trust.
Dave Hall - General Counsel and Company Secretary
Dave Hall joined the Priory Group in November 2007 as the first General Counsel of the Priory Group. Dave’s primary responsibilities include overseeing and managing the execution of all corporate development projects and he is a director of a number of Priory development companies.
Dave is also responsible for structuring the Group’s insurance programme with Priory’s brokers, and overseeing the conduct of all malpractice and personal injury claims against the Priory Group. Before joining Priory, Dave was in private practice with Linklaters for nine years during which time he acted on a number of major corporate transactions.
Tina Walton - CIO & Group Director of People and Transformation
Tina Walton joined Priory in May 2008 with a mandate to migrate all IT services to an integrated in-house platform and to upgrade the Group's IT systems to be "best in class".
Tina’s main responsibilities are to develop the strategy, provide leadership and governance oversight of the People Team, Information Technology and Group Projects Departments. In addition she is also responsible for the delivery of major corporate transformations including acquisition integration, IT system procurement and major operational and culture changes.
During her career she has amassed over 20 years' experience of managing large scale systems and infrastructure implementations and 7 years of delivering M&A integration programmes within the care sector. Before joining Priory, Tina was previously Operations Manager at Cold Harbour Systems.
Karen Langton - Group HR Director
Karen joined Priory Group in 2015 as the HR Director for the Healthcare division, after working for gategroup a global airline catering, retail on-board and equipment solutions provider where she progressed her HR operational career.
Karen is CIPD qualified and is responsible for the operational HR teams (including recruitment), learning & development, internal communications and the central HR functions.
Rick Driscoll - Group Medical Director
Rick became Group Medical Director in December 2016. He joined the Group in 2003 as a consultant forensic & rehabilitation psychiatrist. Previously within the Group he has been a site medical director and the service line clinical director for forensic and locked rehabilitation services.
Rick has interests in forensic rehabilitation & recovery, along with outcome measures & service development. He has more than 23 years’ clinical and management experience as a consultant. Before working with Priory Healthcare, he had held three NHS consultant posts. The first was in community and general adult psychiatry in Gloucester, where he was the lead consultant for the PICU and became lead consultant for adult mental health. This was followed by posts in secure and rehabilitation psychiatry in West London & then Bristol where he opened the low secure rehabilitation service.
Jim Lee - Group Tax Director
Jim joined the Priory Group in February 2011 as Group Tax Director and has responsibility for the management of the Group’s tax affairs, its relationship with HMRC, tax compliance and reporting and providing tax advice on acquisitions, restructurings and other transactions.
Before joining Priory, Jim was in private practice with Deloitte for over ten years. During this time he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, specialising in corporate tax and transaction support, with a particular focus on the healthcare sector.
Adrian Dallison - Director of Estates and New Business
Adrian joined the Priory Group in April 2006 and is responsible for the management of Priory's property portfolio and identification of site extension and development opportunities.
Before joining Priory, Adrian held board and other senior management positions with various United Kingdom and international businesses, including: Ushers of Trowbridge Group plc, Quadriga Worldwide Limited, Nortel Networks plc and Tecteon plc.
David Watts - Director of Safety
David is a registered mental health nurse with experience of managing community mental health teams. He is now more involved in patient safety.
David has spent time working in a variety of patient safety-related roles and latterly worked at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, overseeing incidents and serious incidents reported across the trust.
David joined the Priory Group in December 2012. His brief is to ensure that serious incidents, complaints and claims are effectively reported, investigated and to ensure that any lessons learnt are shared and improvements made.
Rebekah Cresswell - Chief Operating Officer, Priory Adult Care
Rebekah joined Priory Group in November 2012 working as Director of Quality in Priory Healthcare for four years. During this time, she set up systems and processes, governance structures, strategically driven continuous quality improvement, led on safeguarding, H&S, regulation, patient safety, risk, audit & policies to ensure the delivery of high quality services to patients. She moved to the Group Wide role of Director of Performance and Regulation in January 2017 to drive improvement and lead on regulation interfacing with the 7 regulators across Healthcare, Education and Adult Social Care. In March 2018, she moved to Priory Adult Care full time as Chief Operating Officer to be responsible for service delivery, ensuring the people we support and care for reach their potential and enjoy their lives.
Rebekah joined Priory from NHS North West where she was Assistant Director of Clinical Quality & Patient Safety, where she led on Child Safeguarding CQUIN and CQC, with oversight of quality & safety for Greater Manchester. This included monitoring QPIs, responding to serious incidents, supporting Trusts experiencing quality issues, assessing and helping prepare organisations for Foundation Trust Status.
Clair Dunn - IT Director
Clair joined the Priory Group in May 2008 as part of the initial team that migrated the IT Services into the Priory Group.
Clair is a Batchelor of Education (BEd Hons) and taught for many years before embarking on a career change into IT. She has over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, having worked her way up from an initial IT field engineer position at British Aerospace. Previous to joining in 2008, Clair worked for a large software house providing systems to the Healthcare sector and worked with companies such as Bupa, Nestor, Four Seasons and Care UK.
Matthew Atherton - Group Director of Marketing and Communications
Matthew joined the Priory Group in April 2012, initially focusing on the Healthcare and Education Divisions before assuming a wider remit covering marketing activity across the Group. Matthew has over 16 years’ experience of leading marketing strategy across a diverse range of organisations including specialist healthcare, regeneration and education service providers.
Before joining Priory, Matthew held a number of marketing and communications positions in the NHS, latterly focusing on a Department of Health-funded programme of behaviour change campaigns, and supporting newly-formed NHS Provider Trusts to embed commercially-focused strategic marketing approaches across the new landscape of healthcare service delivery.
Mark Wilson - Group Commercial Director
Mark joined the Priory Group in July 2011 and has responsibility for a range of commercial activities within Priory, including leading on contract and price negotiations with NHS, local authority and other commissioners.
Mark is a chartered accountant, having qualified with KPMG in 1991. He has over twenty years’ experience working in the Health and Social Care Sector, holding a number of senior finance and commercial roles in that time.
Jane Stone - Group Director of Nursing
Jane has worked for the Priory Group for over 5 years in a variety of roles, and became Group Director of Nursing in January 2016.
Before joining the Priory Jane worked in Mental Health and Learning Disability services in the National Health Service in the South of England in Senior management and Board level positions. Since moving into this role, Jane has led the introduction of Nurse revalidation across the group, the Healthcare Assistant Scholarship Programme, and developing the Group Nursing Strategy, and all this entails.
