Trevor Torrington – Chief Executive Officer, Priory Group
Trevor became CEO of The Priory Group in 2016 after 7 years as CEO of its healthcare division. Priory runs the largest network of mental healthcare hospitals and clinics in the UK, caring for 30,000 people each year across a range of services including mental health, addictions, adult residential care, and children’s specialist education at 450 sites. Under Trevor’s leadership, the Group has strengthened its role as an inpatient provider for NHS Trusts. It successfully integrated Priory Healthcare with Partnerships in Care and opened its first overseas mental health facility (in Dubai) and its tenth Wellbeing Centre (Harley Street). In 2019 it will open its first specialist school outside the UK, in Abu Dhabi.
Trevor is also a trustee of Disability Initiative.
Ryan Jervis - Chief Financial Officer
Ryan joined The Priory Group as Chief Financial Officer in November 2019 and has Group-wide responsibility for the finances of The Priory Group.
With over twenty years of finance experience across both corporate and advisory roles, Ryan’s healthcare experience includes having served as Chief Development Officer for Cambian PLC and Cygnet Healthcare, in addition to a senior Finance role with Al Noor Hospitals.
A qualified accountant, Ryan brings a combination of finance and industry experience, including having led and completed numerous corporate transactions across the Healthcare, Engineering and Industrials sectors with both publicly listed and private organisations. This experience includes a broad range of capital restructurings and corporate refinancings.
In addition to day-to-day finance activities the finance department seeks to provide strategic and operational insight to every aspect of the business to help and support the operations to enhance the health, stability and quality of the organisation and our patient care.
Dave Hall - General Counsel and Company Secretary
Dave is a UK-qualified solicitor and joined the Priory Group in 2007 as its first General Counsel. Dave leads the Legal & Compliance teams at Priory who advise on all legal, regulatory, H&S, risk management, insurance, data protection, corporate, commercial and property matters.
Dave has considerable transaction experience having worked as an M&A lawyer in the London office of Linklaters for 9 years prior to joining Priory and he has been central to the success of the Group’s acquisition programme having acted on the purchase of Affinity, Harbour Care, Peninsula, High Quality Lifestyles, New Directions, CastleCare, Lifeworks, Progress Care and Aspire.
CIO & Director of Corporate Services
Tina Walton joined Priory in May 2008 with a mandate to migrate all IT services to an integrated in-house platform and to upgrade the Group’s IT systems to be ‘best in class”.
Tina’s main responsibilities are to develop the strategy, provide leadership and governance for the departments delivering Corporate Services covering Information Technology, People Services, Estates and Facilities Management. In addition she is also responsible for oversight of major corporate programmes, projects and business transformation that includes acquisition integration, IT system procurement, Estates portfolio opportunities and improvements, together with identifying and delivering major operational and cultural changes across the business.
During her career she has amassed over 25 years’ experience of managing large scale systems and infrastructure implementations and 8 years of delivering M&A integration programmes within the care sector. Before joining Priory Tina was previously Operations Manager for a software house supplying services to the Care Sector.
Alex Ryan - Group Director of Business Development
Alex joined Priory Healthcare as a Business Development Manager in 2011 and moved into the role of Service Development Director for Healthcare in 2016. In January 2019 Alex was appointed to the role of Group Director of Business Development and is responsible for looking after Business Development and Strategic Growth. This department works to manage Priory’s reputation, protect its core bed base, drive strategic development of services and maximise service occupancy through referrer engagement, service promotion and referral management. Before joining the Priory Alex was a solicitor in London specialising in dispute resolution.
Karen Langton - Group HR Director
Karen joined Priory Group in 2015 as the HR Director for the Healthcare division, after working for gategroup a global airline catering, retail on-board and equipment solutions provider where she progressed her HR operational career.
Karen is CIPD qualified and is responsible for the operational HR teams (including recruitment), learning & development, internal communications and the central HR functions.
Jane Stone - Group Director of Nursing, Professional Development and Service Improvement
Jane has worked for the Priory Group for over 5 years in a variety of roles, and became Group Director of Nursing in January 2016.
Jane has worked in the company for almost 8 years, becoming Group DoN in 2016, and joining the Operating Board in April 2019. Jane is responsible for the team of professional heads across the group, developing and improving practice and working with other Board members to achieve the highest level of service and professional delivery.
Jane has led Nursing Revalidation, when it started 3 years ago, and our original Nursing development programme, before the Apprenticeship programme commenced. Her team also lead on Nursing preceptorship, implementing a new nursing strategy that takes into account future nurse competencies; similarly this is also happening with Allied Health Professionals, and also developing senior programmes for medical staff.
Jane is the Group Equality and Diversity lead, and our new Strategy ‘Thrive at Priory’ was launched in September 2019.
Rebekah Cresswell - Chief Operating Officer, Priory Adult Care
Rebekah joined Priory Group in November 2012 working as Director of Quality in Priory Healthcare for four years. During this time, she set up systems and processes, governance structures, strategically driven continuous quality improvement, led on safeguarding, H&S, regulation, patient safety, risk, audit & policies to ensure the delivery of high quality services to patients. She moved to the Group Wide role of Director of Performance and Regulation in January 2017 to drive improvement and lead on regulation interfacing with the 7 regulators across Healthcare, Education and Adult Social Care. In March 2018, she moved to Priory Adult Care full time as Chief Operating Officer to be responsible for service delivery, ensuring the people we support and care for reach their potential and enjoy their lives.
Rebekah joined Priory from NHS North West where she was Assistant Director of Clinical Quality & Patient Safety, where she led on Child Safeguarding CQUIN and CQC, with oversight of quality & safety for Greater Manchester. This included monitoring QPIs, responding to serious incidents, supporting Trusts experiencing quality issues, assessing and helping prepare organisations for Foundation Trust Status.
Warren Irving - Chief Operating Officer - Priory Healthcare
Warren joined Priory in March 2017 as one of three Managing Directors. In October 2019 Warren was appointed as Chief Operating Officer responsible for the Healthcare Division. Warren began his career in mental health as a Healthcare Assistant some 25 year ago. He went on to obtain a degree in Psychology at the University of Bangor in Wales. After finishing his degree, Warren went on to manage hospitals across the country, more recently working as Chief Operating Officer and Acting Chief Executive for a large mental health charity. Warren’s motivation throughout his career has always been making a difference to people’s lives.
Chris Strong – Chief Operating Officer, Priory Education and Children’s Services
Chris joined the Priory Group in March 2020 to lead its Education and Children’s Services Division. Chris has a wealth of experience within Special Education fulfilling a variety of high profile roles across the sector. He is a qualified teacher with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Management. Chris is passionate about working with children, maintaining voluntary positions in a national charity and also local authority provision.
