Ecstasy/MDMA addiction rehabilitation

MDMA (3, 4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine), also commonly known as ‘ecstasy’, is a powerful synthetic drug that dramatically alters an individual’s mood and perception. The effects of MDMA/ecstasy are similar to those experienced after taking amphetamine and hallucinogenic drugs, with MDMA also having a very similar chemical structure to these substances. MDMA typically comes in white powder form which can be dabbed onto the gums, snorted or smoked. However, more commonly, MDMA is mixed with other chemicals and substances, and sold as an ‘ecstasy’ tablet.

Without intensive addiction treatment, it is possible for your ecstasy abuse to become worse over time and lead to a whole host of long-term problems, affecting your relationships with loved ones, your performance at work, your ability to function, as well as your general health, wellbeing and quality of life. Untreated MDMA addiction may also lead to the development of alcohol addiction and other drug and behavioural addictions, causing a whole host of additional problems.

However, it’s important to understand that ecstasy addiction is treatable and the most crucial first step is to seek specialist support and treatment for this dangerous addiction. Our highly qualified MDMA/ecstasy addiction treatment teams at Priory, comprising expert psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists and other mental health professionals, are committed to delivering a personalised blend of psychological and therapeutic approaches to treat your MDMA/ecstasy misuse.
