New ward opens at the Priory Hospital Dewsbury

Priory Hospital Dewsbury has expanded its range of services with the opening of a new ward.

Jubilee Ward will provide specialist healthcare for male service users with mild to moderate learning disabilities, associated mental health needs (including autism) and behaviours that challenge.

Priory Group has invested a total of £5million in the Dewsbury hospital to complement the psychiatric intensive care and low secure mental health services in the region. The hospital opened its first ward, Hartley Ward, in September 2012.

The service is delivered in collaboration with the local NHS and places a heavy focus on the enhancement of independent living skills by providing a broad range of social and recreational activities.

Priory has developed a range of specialist rehabilitation services that address the varying needs of an individual patient in their journey to recovery. By having a range of specific rehabilitation services within the company, the service has the ability to move patients more efficiently between niche units or other Priory services.

We provide rapid access to treatment and rehabilitation in order to help and support the individual towards recovery.

“Priory Hospital Dewsbury accepts referrals from a number of sources including secure services, psychiatric intensive care units, the community and other independent providers. We have been delighted with the initial success of the hospital and have responded to the need for high quality, value for money services with the opening of the new ward.”
