The Priory Group, the leading provider of behavioural care in the UK, announces that 66 Partnerships in Care sites have formally become part of the Priory Group, as of 30 November 2016, following approval by the Competition and Markets Authority.
Following this approval, Tom Riall and Acadia Healthcare, Priory’s owners, have agreed the time is right for new leadership for the combined business in the UK and that Tom will therefore step down as Priory Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
The Group announces that Trevor Torrington has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Priory Group.
Trevor has spent the last seven years as Chief Executive Officer of Priory Healthcare, the largest of the four divisions in the Priory Group. Before joining the Priory Group, Trevor was a partner and Managing Director of Brookdale Care, and prior to that, Managing Director at the Glen Care Group.
Ron Fincher, Chief Operating Officer at Acadia Healthcare, owner of the Priory Group, said: “Trevor Torrington has a deep understanding of the Priory Group and an excellent track record as CEO of Priory Healthcare for the last seven years. I am confident that he is perfectly placed to continue building on Priory’s success in the future as the company enters a new phase with Partnerships in Care. Acadia would also like to thank Tom Riall for his efforts during his tenure as CEO and wish him well in the next stage of his career. Tom joined the Priory Group in April 2013 and with his drive and determination, has helped to transform Priory into the leading provider of behavioural care in the UK. Priory is now operating at record levels of compliance, delivering safer, higher-quality and more effective services than ever before.”
Trevor Torrington said: “I am honoured to be taking over the helm at the Priory Group at an exciting time for the company. Over the last decade at Priory, I have seen first-hand the fantastic work that goes on every day. Partnerships in Care and Priory share a commitment to outstanding quality care, and in bringing both companies together, we have a great platform to continue building on our success in the future.”
