Priory Group acquires Life Works from the Glenholme Group
Priory Group has announced today that it has acquired Life Works, a leading private rehabilitation centre in Old Woking, Surrey, from the Glenholme Healthcare Group.
The centre has 22 beds specialising in private inpatient therapy for individuals with drug and alcohol addiction, eating disorders, and mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. It was rated as 'outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in its most recent inspection in July 2014.
The move comes as Priory continues to build its network of private centres across the UK.
In November 2014, Priory opened the first in a series of Wellbeing Centres, in Fenchurch Street, London. Since then, the centre has experienced more than four times the level of enquires that were expected and additional wellbeing centres have been opened in Canterbury and Birmingham.
Tom Riall, Chief Executive of Priory Group, said: “Life Works has an outstanding reputation for its market leading addiction programmes and is a perfect fit for Priory. This is an exciting partnership that will continue building on our growing private healthcare business in the coming years, and I am delighted to welcome Life Works to the team.”
Don Serratt, Founder of Life Works and CEO of Glenholme Group, said: “Over the last 12 years, we have established Life Works as one of the best rehab services in the UK, and I am extremely proud of what we have achieved. We have however made the strategic decision to focus on the current expansion of our mental health and learning disability services. We wish Priory Group the best in continuing to build on the excellent reputation of Life Works in the future.”
