Priory's brain injury services
Priory can now boast extensive Brain Injury Services offered across 13 sites throughout the UK. Our service provides highly specialised treatment programmes grounded on national guidance and research; from acute medical rehabilitation and neurobehavioural rehabilitation through to long-term continuing care. The diversity of our services allows a seamless care pathway for our patients as their rehabilitation needs change. Priory's Brain Injury Services is focused on using data to inform best practice, individualise care plans and measure patient outcomes (we've recently published our latest brain injury outcomes data).
Brain injury is well documented as being an enormous problem around the world. In the UK alone, there are more than one million people currently living with the effects of long-term brain injury. Priory Brain Injury Services is well placed to provide services that enable people with an acquired brain injury (ABI) to maximise their independence at any stage of their rehabilitation journey.
Our service encompasses neurophysical care and rehabilitation, as well as neurobehavioural rehabilitation, and is provided within environments ranging from hospital settings to residential homes. All of the services integrate and have strong ties with their local community. Rehabilitating and caring for people with an acquired brain injury is important to our communities and society more broadly, with implications ethically, socially and economically.
