At Priory Hospital Roehampton, our 8-week promoting wellbeing programme for adults offers a structured, evidence-based space to improve your physical and emotional wellbeing. Whether you’re looking to prevent a dip in your mood, or navigating the transition back to daily life after a difficult period, our programme provides the tools you need to build a resilient, balanced future.

Who is this programme suitable for?

We have designed this pathway to be as inclusive as possible. You may find this 8-week course beneficial if you are:

  • Looking to improve overall wellbeing: You want to proactively manage stress, anxiety, or low mood before they become overwhelming
  • Stepping down from more intensive support: You have recently completed an inpatient stay or intensive therapy and want to maintain your progress
  • Navigating life without a diagnosis: You feel ‘not quite yourself’ but don't fit into a specific clinical category like attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Seeking structured support: You value a full day of expert-led activity over traditional, 1-hour therapy sessions
  • Preventing relapse: You have been well for a while but want to refresh your toolkit and create a robust personal plan

Conditions we support through our promoting wellbeing programme

Our promoting wellbeing group is a transdiagnostic programme, meaning you don’t need a specific label or diagnosis to join. Instead of focusing on a single diagnosis, it treats the universal symptoms that show up across many different mental health challenges.

Here are the primary conditions and experiences that our 8-week promoting wellbeing programme is designed to support:

  • Mixed anxiety and depression
  • Stress and burnout
  • Adjustment disorder (life transitions)
  • Post-treatment aftercare
  • Low self-esteem and social isolation
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Mood swings
  • Intense irritability
  • Feeling ‘numb’ or disconnected
  • Difficulty calming down after a stressful event

A typical Tuesday: what to expect

Our promoting wellbeing programme is held on-site at Roehampton for 8 consecutive Tuesdays.

Each day follows a carefully curated schedule to ensure you receive comprehensive therapeutic support:

  • 09:30 – 10:30 | Psychoeducation. Learn about the biological and psychological factors that influence your health. Topics include self-compassion, sleep hygiene and the impact of exercise on your mood
  • 11:00 – 12:00 | Stabilisation group. Focus on practical cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills. You’ll learn grounding techniques and distress tolerance tools that you can apply at home
  • 12:00 – 13:00 | Lunch. A nutritious meal is provided in our dining room, allowing you time to connect with your peers in a relaxed setting
  • 13:00 – 14:00 | Creative therapies. Explore emotional expression through writing and drawing. This session is about the process of self-awareness rather than artistic skill
  • 14:15 – 15:15 | Mindfulness. Practise the art of being present. This group helps you observe difficult thoughts and emotions with curiosity rather than judgement
  • 15:30 – 16:30 | Progress review and relapse prevention. Reflect on your week and build a personal ‘safety plan to help you recognise early signs that your mental health may need extra attention

This programme is a face-to-face group and you’ll be encouraged to share your experiences with others experiencing similar challenges.  This allows for a level of connection and trust that’s often missing from digital-only support. You’ll be assigned a dedicated keyworker to support you throughout the 8 weeks, ensuring your experience is tailored to your unique needs.

Our programme takes place within the tranquil grounds of Priory Hospital Roehampton in South West London. Situated near the peaceful expanses of Richmond Park, the hospital provides a sanctuary away from the stressors of central London.

Further information and pricing

Our promoting wellbeing programme is an accessible way to receive high-level clinical support without the need for an overnight stay.

  • Cost: The programme is £632 per day
  • Funding: We accept self-pay patients and most major private medical insurance (PMI) providers
  • Suitability: This group isn’t suitable for people experiencing active psychosis, mania or acute suicidal thoughts.

Our team can discuss alternative intensive programmes if these symptoms are present
