About
Alena is an integrative psychotherapist for individuals and couples. She's also an accredited member of the BACP and a registered member of the Human Givens Institute.
Alena utilises a number of humanistic and psychodynamic approaches in her work, as well as draws upon cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and the ‘human givens’ approach, to best support clients’ needs.
As a fully qualified human givens therapist she integrates techniques of this highly practical, holistic and a scientifically informed approach into her work, where appropriate. As a trauma-informed therapist, she is skilled in delivering the ‘rewind’ technique to deal with trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms and can also implement the reverse conditioning method to help clients manage addiction or unwanted behaviour.
Alena’s special interest is in helping clients to manage symptoms of anxiety, panic attacks and/or depression. She fully focuses on individual needs, and strives to help clients identify their inner and external helpful resources, and build on confidence and interpersonal skills, to bring about positive change.
