Alison Marsh

Integrative Counsellor

About

Life can often feel overwhelming, with pressures from family, work, relationships and illness leaving individuals feeling lost, confused or stuck. Alison understands how these challenges can weigh heavily on your mental and emotional wellbeing, and she believes that counselling offers a safe, confidential space to explore these feelings. Through this process, clients can find strategies to cope in ways that family or friends might not be able to offer, allowing them to gain clarity, understanding and a renewed sense of control over their lives.

Alison holds an integrative counselling diploma and has completed extensive further training, which enables her to offer a comprehensive and flexible approach to therapy. She combines her core person-centred approach with elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), transactional analysis (TA) and Gestalt therapy. This integrative style allows her to tailor her work to meet each client's unique needs, helping them gain a deeper understanding of their emotions, behaviours and the patterns that may be holding them back. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress or more complex issues such as trauma or long-term health conditions, Alison is equipped to guide you through the process of emotional healing and personal growth.

Alison’s approach is rooted in compassion and empathy, and she works to create a space where clients feel heard, understood and respected. She believes in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and takes the time to build trust with each individual, ensuring they feel safe in expressing themselves freely. Through her support, clients are encouraged to explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences in a way that helps them gain insight and develop healthier coping strategies.

Whether you're facing overwhelming stress, long-term personal struggles, historical trauma, or simply feeling disconnected from your true self, Alison is committed to helping you navigate these challenges and discover a way forward. The counselling process is entirely client-led, with sessions moving at your own pace. Alison’s goal is to empower clients to make meaningful changes in their lives by providing tools and support to help them feel more in control, more confident, and more aligned with their values and goals.

If you feel Alison could be the right person to help, she welcomes you to reach out and take the first step towards making positive changes in your life. Initial contact can often feel like the hardest part, but Alison is committed to making the process as comfortable as possible, offering telephone or online sessions to suit your preferences. If you don’t feel she’s the right fit for you, Alison encourages you to explore other therapists on the platform, as finding the right support is the most important step towards your healing and growth.
