Amanda Hudson

Integrative CBT Therapist

About

Amanda offers a safe, understanding, and collaborative therapeutic space where clients can be themselves and begin therapy from wherever they are in life. She welcomes clients for both in-person and online sessions, working with adults and young people aged 11 and above.

Amanda is a qualified Integrative cognitive behavioural and rational emotive behaviour therapist CBT/REBT Therapist with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals with a broad range of mental health needs. She specialises in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, and neurodiversity and works with clients experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, burnout, and life transitions.

Her therapeutic approach is rooted in rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), while integrating compassion focused therapy (CFT) and other evidence-based approaches to meet the unique needs of each client.

Amanda believes that every person is the expert in their own life. Her role is to provide the tools, techniques, and supportive environment needed to explore experiences, develop self-understanding, and create meaningful, lasting change. Her therapeutic style is warm, relaxed, collaborative, and non-judgemental, helping clients feel safe, understood, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.

Position at Priory

Amanda Hudson has worked within Priory Group since October 2023 and currently works as an Integrative CBT/REBT Therapist. During her time at Priory, she has also held clinical lead positions at both the Oxford and Southampton Wellbeing Centres, supporting the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based mental health care.

Prior to joining Priory, Amanda worked as clinical lead at The Hummingbird Charity in Oxfordshire, where she provided therapeutic support to individuals affected by cancer. She brings extensive experience across therapy, counselling, and mental health services.

Amanda is accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), professionally accredited with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), and is a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

Training

Amanda holds a PGDip in Integrative REBT/CBT and brings over a decade of experience working across therapy, counselling, and mental health services.

Alongside her core therapeutic qualifications, Amanda has undertaken specialist training in polyvagal theory, relational neuroscience: interpersonal neurobiology of trauma, compassion focused therapy (CFT), and acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT). She is also an ADOS-2 assessor for Priory and holds a BPS-approved certificate in CBT for children & adolescents.

Amanda’s integrative approach enables her to tailor therapy to the individual, drawing upon a range of evidence-based approaches to provide compassionate, effective, and personalised support.
