Ana-Cristina Tuluceanu

Ana has worked for Priory in different capacities since 2017 and was appointed as a therapist in early 2021. Since then, Ana has been an integral part of the inpatient group programme, delivering mixed diagnosis cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) groups and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) informed skills groups. Ana is part of the DBT team at Priory Hospital Altrincham, acting as a co-facilitator on one of the day care DBT skills group programme.

Ana is registered and accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) and enjoys working with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Training

Ana is committed to personal development through experiential learning and skills acquisition and practice, in order to provide a high standard of care to our service users. Ana attends regular specialised training, to maintain a most up to date skillset and enhance her knowledge.

Ana has a special interest in emotional integration and trauma processing. Therefore, she has trained in DBT and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR). She also has an interest in neurodiversity and has completed specialised training in adapting CBT for people with neurodiverse presentations.

Research Interests

Ana has volunteered for various research roles focused on topics, such as trauma informed research, victim blaming, non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), autism, loneliness and para-suicide.

Following this, Ana has delivered internal psycho-educational training on ‘understanding and management skills for self-injury’.

Ana has completed her BSc and MSc theses on the general population attitudes towards male survivors of sexual trauma from an ethno-cultural perspective.

I am an ethical and empathetic person. As a therapist, I am curious about your emotional difficulties and about building a trusting therapeutic relationship to support you in improving the quality of your life.

Together, we can develop a warm, non-judgemental and protective space for your emotions to be explored, validated and learning ways to manage them effectively.

I have a passion for learning and I have a particular interest in emotional integration and emotional processing of trauma through the biopsychosocial lens.
