Art psychotherapy is a psychological intervention and can describes as psychotherapy using the additional media of art materials as a means to provide another way of communicating. This method of counselling / psychotherapy work can be particularly useful when verbal language does not come naturally. Art making enables people to connect with their unconscious, allowing our unresolved, unprocessed and raw feelings to be expressed through materials – the therapy has proven, beneficial impacts. Art making is typically used along with talking within a session and led by the client’s choice of materials.

“But im not good at art?” Often the less you understand about art making and how different art materials work, the more room your imagination has to experiment and connect with the materials in new, freeing ways.
