I am a counselling psychologist (Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered). I have worked at the Priory for 2.5 years and am a member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS), and a registered eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner (EMDR Association UK and Ireland).
I see my role as providing a safe space where clients can feel comfortable in talking about whatever difficulties or challenges that they are facing in their lives. I facilitate clients to gain the insight, coping skills and strategies to better manage their distress and improve their wellbeing and functioning. I support and empower my clients on this journey, which is unique to each individual.
I gained my psychology qualification in Australia (Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology with Honours). I have also obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Studies in the UK. I have trained in many modalities both in Australia and the UK. These include mindfulness practise, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and psychodynamic approaches. I am also a fully trained EMDR practitioner, which is a technique that helps people work through traumatic experiences.
