Carly Webb
Integrative Psychotherapist/Counsellor
Carly Webb

Carly Webb

Carly initially joined the Priory in 2015, working within the therapy team at Priory Hospital Hayes Grove. In 2019, Carly joined the Harley Street and Fenchurch Street Wellbeing Centres as an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor, running weekly clinics for adults and adolescents. In 2020 during the coronavirus outbreak, Carly expanded her clinic to include consultations at Priory Hospital Roehampton; working with inpatients and outpatients to provide vital crisis support through the pandemic. She continues to work at Harley Street, Fenchurch Street and Roehampton today, offering specialist mental health support through her established psychotherapy clinics.

Alongside her work with the Priory, Carly runs her own successful private clinic in South West London, offering short or long-term support to those in need. She is also involved in charitable mental health projects, with a special emphasis on helping adolescents to navigate their transitions into adulthood. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adheres strictly to their Ethical Framework.

Following many years of working in the voluntary sector (working predominantly with victims of domestic and sexual abuse), Carly made the gradual transition into her psychotherapeutic career. She studied at The Minster Centre in North London and subsequently with The Open University before completing her Master of Science Degree in Therapeutic Counselling at the University of Greenwich. Alongside studying for her Master’s degree, Carly completed clinical placements with Priory and a NHS facility in South West London. Carly has since gained a wealth of experience within the NHS, the Priory and through running her own practice.

Research interests

Carly has a significant interest in the processing, retelling and interpreting of dreams for the therapeutic gain of her patients. Curious about the role of the unconscious and subconscious in sleep-state dreaming – and especially through the messages being communicated in reoccurring dreams – her research on the use of dream interpretations in psychotherapy formed a large part of her Master’s degree and continues to influence her work to date.

I specialise in treating depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem/confidence and in working with those who have been bullied or abused. I have considerable experience of working with relationship difficulties (whether professional, intimate, with friends or with family), and with those who are struggling following a loss or bereavement.

I take an integrative approach to my work, using skills from psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), existential and mindfulness teachings.
