Catherine Kiff
Integrative Psychotherapist / Art Therapist

Catherine Kiff

Catherine Kiff is a qualified and registered Integrative Psychotherapist and Art Therapist. She believes working psychotherapeutically with children, young people and adults requires specialist skills and knowledge to meet the differing needs of these age groups and life experiences they bring to therapy. As such she has specific qualifications and a range of experience working with each of these groups.

Catherine is experienced in working with short, medium and long term clients on a one-to- one basis and with groups. She works with a wide range of presenting issues, such as:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Grief
  • Loss
  • Trauma
  • Emotional, physical and sexual abuse
  • Bi-polar disorder
  • Addictions
  • Eating disorders
  • Family and relationship problems

In addition to working with The Priory Group she has experience of working in the NHS, Private Heath Care, Hospice, Bereavement Counselling, Education Settings, Drug and Alcohol Service, Dementia Care, Learning Difficulties, Domestic Violence, Charities and Private Practice.

Position at Priory

Catherine Kiff  joined The Priory Group Chelmsford in 2019 as a part time sessional psychotherapist working with CAHMS and adult clients.

Training

Catherine is qualified to Masters Level with specialist qualifications in adults, young people and children. She also has additional qualifications in bereavement and loss, trauma, art therapy, creative play therapy, online therapy and executive coaching

As people are all different and don’t all respond in the same way; I believe it is important to fit the way of working to the client. My ways of working include: Psychodynamic Therapy, Art Therapy, Gestalt therapy, Transactional Analysis, Mindfulness and Trauma based treatments including CBT and CATT and Executive Coaching.

Whatever the client brings to therapy, I believe the most important thing is the ability to build up a therapeutic relationship where the client can feel safe, listened to and not judged. Helping the client to begin to build up trust and feel supported to engage in the therapeutic work needed as part of their journey of emotional healing.
