Crystyn (Crissy) Scott
Integrative Therapist
Crissy Scott

Crystyn (Crissy) Scott

Crissy Scott joined the therapy team at Priory Hospital Bristol in 2018 and has previously worked in mental health at the former Priory hospital in Brighton. She has over eight years’ experience of working in mental health; much of her experience was as a therapist for various NHS trusts in Brighton and the South West, and at a Harley Street therapy practice.

As a counselling psychologist in training and an integrative therapist she has trained in a variety of models and is integrative in her approach to therapy. This means that rather than having a preference for any one model, Crissy works together with patients to integrate various tools that you will find helpful.

She is a warm and empathetic practitioner who can support you with a variety of difficulties including depression and anxiety.

Training

Crissy completed her Doctorate of Counselling Psychology in 2017; she is in the final stages of being awarded her doctorate and subsequent Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a counselling psychologist.  She completed her undergraduate studies in Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados at the University of the West Indies. She completed her Master of Science (Msc) in Clinical Psychology and Mental Health in 2010 at the University of Sussex in Brighton.

Crissy has under taken extensive specialist training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) at the University of Exeter, completing a postgraduate certificate in 2014 and a postgraduate diploma in 2017.

Research Interests

Crissy is very interested in research and supervises Master’s students on various areas of research in psychology and education. She is interested in research on sex addiction, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, sexual assault and wellbeing at work, and is currently working on publishing a paper on wellbeing at work.
