Daniel Fryer
Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist
Daniel-Fryer-360x246.jpg

Daniel Fryer

Daniel is a very experienced CBT therapist – rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT) model – clinical hypnotherapist, as well as an author and public speaker (on mental health and wellbeing topics). REBT follows the philosophy that it is not the events in life that disturb you, but what you tell yourself about those events that disturbs you; if you change the interpretation of those events, you can change how you think, how you feel and how you act.

He has been in practice for over 15 years and specialise in the treatment of anxiety disorders, confidence issues, anger, and all aspects of stress and stress management. He also has a lot of experience working with chronic pain, and psychogenic conditions. People often value the clear, concise, solution-focussed framework offered by REBT.

Training

Daniel graduated from City University, London, with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with Honours (Hons) in Journalism and Sociology in 1997. He graduated with a Master of Science (MSc) in Rational Emotive and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Goldsmith’s, University of London in 2010. He also holds a Diplomas of Clinical Hypnotherapy (2004) and Diploma of Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (2006), both from the London College of Clinical Hypnosis (LCCH), and a Diploma in Animal Assisted Therapy  (2017) from the BSY Group. He undertakes regular further training through continual professional development (CPD) courses.

Experience

Daniel worked for over 10 years at the Royal Brompton Hospital, seeing people presenting with angina and Cardiac Syndrome X, so he has a lot of experience treating chronic pain and the emotional and behavioural problems that surround it, as well as with treating psychogenic conditions; he also worked for over 10 years in occupational health, helping people deal with all aspects of work-related stress.

Patient feedback

I can’t explain how much value I have taken from Daniel’s rational emotive behaviour therapy. It was so incredibly useful for me and just completely relatable. He has been amazing and has truly helped me to change my life… Thank you. - Former day care patient

I’m a former journalist and writer, so I know a thing or two about stress, pressure and deadlines. I’ve been in practice, first as a hypnotherapist and then as a cognitive behavioural therapist, since 2004. People often value the clear, concise, solution-based frameworks offered by both cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy. Over the years, I’ve helped many people manage their lifestyle and work-based problems more effectively or, even, let go of them completely.
