Daniela Di Basilio

Daniela Di Basilio is a dedicated clinical psychologist, passionate about helping people of all ages navigate their mental health challenges. She specialises in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and integrates evidence-based techniques that foster a deeper connection between mind and body, including mindfulness and other holistic approaches. Daniela believes that true wellbeing comes from understanding and balancing psychological and physiological health aspects.

With a strong background in both clinical practice and research, Daniela strives to bridge the gap between scientific advancements in clinical psychology and real-world therapeutic applications. She continuously incorporates the latest research into her work, ensuring clients receive the most effective and up-to-date interventions, tailored to their needs.

Daniela offers compassionate, client-centred care, working collaboratively with people facing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and other psychological difficulties. She provides a supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions, develop coping strategies and build resilience. Whether working with children, adolescents or adults, she aims to empower each person to achieve meaningful change and improve their wellbeing.

Position at Priory

Daniela Di Basilio has worked with Priory since 2024, offering CBT-based therapy sessions and clinical supervision to other clinical and counselling psychologists. She is an accredited Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) practitioner and has supported people with mental health challenges since 2014.

Research interests

As a lecturer in clinical psychology at Lancaster University, Daniela Di Basilio is particularly interested in exploring the benefits of digital health tools, such as mobile applications and neuromodulation for people with disorders that have high relapse rates, including eating disorders, as well as psychosomatic conditions like psychogenic seizures.

She is an honorary research associate at the Northern Care Alliance and a key researcher within the Manchester Epilepsy Research Network. This interdisciplinary research group brings together academics and clinicians to collaborate on projects aimed at understanding epilepsy and psychogenic seizures, as well as enhancing support for those living with these conditions.

Daniela has expertise in various research methodologies, including mixed-methods approaches, quantitative research such as questions, questionnaires and survey-based studies, and qualitative methods, including focus groups. Her work is driven by a commitment to integrating research and clinical practice, ensuring that advancements in psychological science translate into meaningful benefits for individuals affected by complex mental health conditions.
