Dr Adelqui Villa
Dr Villa has more than 20 years of experience working with a variety of General Psychiatric conditions and Eating Disorders. He has extensive experience working with outpatient, as well as inpatient, at the Priory Hospital Woodbourne and the Birmingham Wellbeing Centre.
He is the lead Consultant for the Eating Disorder Unit within Woodbourne Priory Hospital and has work on other inpatient wards at Woodbourne treating young people aged 18-25 with complex psychiatric history, including developmental conditions, psychiatric illnesses and social & family difficulties.
He is able to offer appointments within 1 to 3 weeks. He is available to see both General Psychiatric (depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar, PTSD) and Eating Disorder patients.
Training
Dr Villa trained as a Medical Doctor in Cordoba University, Argentina. Soon after qualifying he immigrated to the UK and has worked in a variety of Psychiatric services with novel approaches to Mental Health, including community services and therapeutic community approach. He has completed Post Graduate Training in London, including attending lectures at St George’s Hospital. Over the years Dr Villa has facilitated lectures for GP’s in the West Midlands. Currently, Dr Villa is working collaboratively with Eating Disorder Consultants across the West Midlands who meet regularly to discuss referrals, patients and best practice.
