Dr Birgit Vote joined Priory Hospital Chelmsford as a sessional therapist in 2016.


Dr Vote qualified as a psychologist in 2002, after receiving her Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Goettingen, in Germany. Dr Vote completed a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology in the UK, in which she specialised in CBT and psychodynamic psychotherapy. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and on the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS).

I am a British Psychological Society (BPS) chartered and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered practitioner psychologist. I am also accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) to offer cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

I offer individualised treatment for depression and anxiety problems, such as panic/agoraphobia, specific phobias, social anxiety, health anxiety, excessive worry and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Additionally, I also offers therapy for eating disorders, anger, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), stress management, work issues, grief/loss and relationship problems.

​​​I have worked with a wide variety of people, from all walks of life, of varying ages and backgrounds, in different therapeutic settings including, private practice, within the NHS and the not-for-profit sector.
