Dr Gauri Beecroft
Alongside being a therapy services manager at The Priory Hospital Woking, Gauri is an existential analytic psychotherapist. She started as a life coach for people with learning and physical disabilities, commencing her journey as a therapist first in GP surgeries and later in hospices, counselling clients diagnosed with terminal illnesses as well as their families and the bereaved.
Gauri has also been a part-time lecturer on a BA in Counselling and a therapeutic counselling course at a local college, editorial assistant for the European Journal of Psychotherapy and Counselling, and research assistant at the University of Roehampton.
Being a keen photographer, she is interested in the therapeutic uses of photography following her involvement in the Phototherapy Europe in Prisons project, funded by the EU. Gauri’s doctoral thesis is entitled ‘Stories of Comedy and Tragedy in Therapy’.
