Dr Ian Martin

Dr Ian Martin

Dr Ian Martin specialises in the assessment and treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), substance and behavioural addictions, psychosis, adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs) in adults, including Asperger syndrome.

He offers outpatient consultations in Central and South West London, offering easy access for patients from across the capital. He works closely with psychologists, psychotherapists and other healthcare professionals ensuring that patients have rapid access to a wide range of high quality, evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

For individuals with symptoms requiring more than can be offered on an outpatient basis, Dr Martin is able to provide care as an inpatient at Priory Hospital Roehampton.

Dr Ian Martin qualified from the University of Adelaide Medical School in 1992. He emigrated to the UK in 1993 and trained on the Imperial College Psychiatric Training Scheme in London from 1995, becoming a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1998. He worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the NHS for more than 10 years, in both general and old age psychiatry.

He commenced independent practice in 2010. He is a visiting consultant at Priory Hospital Roehampton and has two Central London outpatient practices.

In addition to his membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, he is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine and the Medical Protection Society.

In his leisure time, Ian enjoys travel, sport and the visual arts. His 20 years in the UK haven’t dampened his enthusiastic support of the Australian cricket team, whilst locally he admits to being a supporter of Chelsea Football Club.
