About
Dr Iwona Scollard is a counselling psychologist and psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. She adopts an integrative and relational approach, incorporating psychodynamic techniques, neuroscience-based attachment theories, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and existential concepts.
Dr Scollard is dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment where you feel safe, heard, and genuinely understood. Together, you will explore your true self and address your challenges, envisioning and creating a life in which you are not just surviving, but thriving.
Recognising that our experiences shape our brains, Dr Scollard applies a neuropsychological perspective to enhance the effectiveness of therapy. As our understanding of the brain continues to evolve, she updates her therapeutic practices to reflect new insights, embracing the dynamic interplay between brain, psyche, soul, spirit, and social connection.
Dr Scollard offers her services in both English and Polish, ensuring that language is not a barrier to your mental wellbeing. Her journey in clinical psychology began in Poland, where she completed her initial training. She later pursued further education in London, obtaining a doctoral degree in counselling psychology and psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute and Middlesex University. As a senior lecturer in psychology, she seamlessly blends her clinical work with her academic responsibilities.
