Dr Jennifer Anne Scott
Jennifer is head of CAMHS therapies at the Priory Hospital Chelmsford and works as a clinical psychologist in both the inpatient and outpatient CAMHS services.
On the ward she is in charge of designing, facilitating and evaluating the ward therapeutic programme. Jennifer sees a number of inpatients for individual therapy and also facilitates many of the ward therapeutic groups.
In the outpatient service she sees patients for individual work and specialises in working with adolescents with mood issues and self harm behaviours. She is also able to provide specialist assessments to help consultants make decisions and diagnoses in relation to patients who may have learning issues, and disorders such as ASD or ADHD.
Jennifer has over six years experience working with children and adolescents with a range of mental health disorders, in a number of different settings, including community and inpatient settings: “I prefer to work using a cognitive behavioural or dialectical behavioural approach. I have completed the DBT British Isles Foundation Training and have experience working in a tier 4 DBT adolescent outpatient team.”
Jennifer has recently completed her ADOS training and is now able to conduct Autism assessments alongside regularly using other neuropsychology assessments, including tests of child intelligence, memory, and attention.
