
Dr Neil Brener
Dr Neil Brener has been a consultant psychiatrist since the early 1990s and has been associated with Priory for many years. Prior to his work as a consultant psychiatrist, he was a Priory research fellow.
Dr Brener held the post of medical director of Priory Hospital North London for ten years and is now a staff consultant there, with a special interest in overseeing the addiction unit.
Dr Brener was an examiner for the Royal College of Psychiatrists for ten years in part I and part II of the MRCPsych. He is proud to be associated with teaching medical students and postgraduates.
Training
Dr Brener obtained a degree in medicine from the University of London in 1984 and MRCPsych from the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Research interests
Dr Brener has lectured abroad on a number of occasions and is associated with the issue of mental health in India. He is also a regular speaker at international conferences in both the UK and abroad.
Additional information
Dr Brener holds clinics at a number of sites in London and in Oxford.
Dr Brener has an extensive medico-legal practice providing reports on adult survivors of sexual abuse. He has given evidence in court on a number of occasions and undertakes a good deal of work around litigation and some areas of crime.
