About
Nikki is a qualified counselling psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and HCPC. She is trained in a vast array of methodologies from person-centred, gestalt and psychodynamic approaches, to cognitive behavioural and compassion-focused therapies. Through her career, she has worked with a number of presenting issues but her particular interests are trauma, identity and transitional periods (including perinatal health).
Nikki is passionate about collaborative, patient-led care and supporting individuals to move towards meaningful, lasting change. Although diagnoses can feel helpful and validating, it can also feel reductive and prescriptive. As a counselling psychologist, Nikki takes a transdiagnostic approach that looks beyond labels, to understand her patients in a broader, more holistic context.
Position at Priory
Nikki works at the Priory Hospital Altrincham both as a ward psychologist on the private and NHS inpatient wards, and also as an outpatient psychologist working with patients in the community.
She is BPS, BACP and HCPC registered.
Training
She holds a BA and MA (Cantab) in politics, psychology and sociology from the University of Cambridge. Following her graduation, she started training in therapeutic approaches via professional qualifications and during this period, she volunteered for a number of UK charities and organisations including Mind, Relate and Lifeline.
Nikki returned to academia in 2020 to complete her doctoral training. She graduated as a counselling psychologist from the University of Manchester cum laude in 2025. She has trained in a number of therapeutic approaches and is a qualified supervisor.
