About

Dr Stroma MacFarlane has been a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Director of the Adult Mental Health and Substance Misuse Services and provides assessment and treatment of addictions, and eating disorders.

Dr Stroma’s areas of expertise are:

  • Occupational Psychiatry

Training

Dr Stroma began her training in Psychiatry in 2000 in the Wessex region working across Hampshire in various sub-specialties including substance misuse, Rehabilitation Psychiatry and Acute and Community based Adult Psychiatry.

Research interests

She is also looking forward to providing a Women’s Mental Health Service addressing the specific psychiatric needs of women.

Training

Mark graduated from Coventry University with a BA in Integrative Counselling – Theory and Practice. This involved practising on a placement, whilst studying individual and group therapy delivered in a number of different approaches. Mark has also been trained in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) with a certificate issued by MHFA England.
