Dr. Syed Omair Ahmed

Dr. Syed Omair Ahmed is currently employed as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Black Country Partnership Foundation NHS Trust. He specialises in General Adult Psychiatry, in particular, looking at mood disorders, anxiety and psychoses.

Dr. Ahmed runs a private clinic at Priory Hospital Woodbourne and is visiting Consultant Psychiatrist at Priory Wellbeing Centre Birmingham.

He has received Clinical Excellence Awards in recognition of his services within Psychiatry. He has a keen interest in research and has published papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr.Ahmed also specialises in treating medical and healthcare professionals and also provides medico-legal reports if required.

Training

Dr. Ahmed qualified from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 2000 and has trained in renowned teaching hospitals in the West Midlands. He is also privileged to have been awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Dr. Ahmed is a recognised higher trainer by the General Medical Council and provides clinical and educational supervision for trainee doctors looking to progress to Consultant level. He is also a trained medical appraiser and ensures that doctors are maintaining national standards of good medical practice.
