About

Elizabeth is a skilful and dedicated integrative cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) therapist, with 18 years of experience within the statutory, non-statutory and private sectors. She first offered therapeutic services in the community at The CASSEL Centre in Lewisham. She worked at MIND in Greenwich and at WPF in London Bridge. Over the later years of her career, Elizabeth worked with NHS trusts, offering psychological therapy to adults, children and young people. She has participated in the development of services for children and young people, introducing group therapy for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), working in self-harm (WISH), non-violent resistance (NVR) and families learning about self-harm (FLASH). Her later work includes the provision of private therapy services, including consultations, at Folkestone and Hythe in Kent.

Elizabeth's style of work follows an integrative approach with a skilful use of a number of different therapeutic techniques and theories to facilitate a flexible client-centred approach. Her application of CBT comprises traditional methods such as exposure response prevention (ERP) and behavioural activation (BA), augmented by third wave CBT therapies such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive de-fusion, values and identity, psychological flexibility, mindfulness, compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). Elizabeth is neurodiversity trained, LGBTQ+ and somatoform disorders informed.
