Ellie Ewbank
Ellie Ewbank joined Priory Group earlier in 2019. In her clinic, she sees children and adults with a range of mental health difficulties. These include a combination of depression and anxiety disorders, such as Adjustment disorder, Social anxiety, Generalized anxiety, Specific phobia, Health anxiety, PTSD, OCD, Self-harm. Ellie also works with stress and anger management concerns.
Ellie has received specialist training in advanced CBTi for the treatment of insomnia, which she can use to compliment her work for other conditions, or as a standalone treatment plan. She is also trained to incorporate Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques in her practice, which is particularly effective for patients that may experience difficulty engaging with treatment.
As an enthusiastic and empathic therapist, dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care, Ellie facilitates a non-judgemental space for exploration of your difficulties, and enables you to take the necessary steps towards your goals. Ellie is a kind, sensitive, and approachable member of our team.
Ellie has a passion for person-centred care, and a specialist interest in the combination of mental health and chronic physical health conditions. She integrates techniques from third-wave models where necessary, including Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Mentalization-based Therapy (MBT).
When not working at the Priory, Ellie works closely with local branches of the National Brain Injury charity in Oxfordshire and Thames Valley. She is an active member of the Board of Trustees of the charity, which she thoroughly enjoys. She also practices in Reading/Berkshire providing psychological therapy to individuals and families affected by an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and associated cognitive impairments.
Training
Ellie graduated from Cardiff University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc.) in Psychology, and holds graduate membership with the British Psychological Society. She has since been awarded a BABCP-accredited Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Ellie’s clinical roles in the field of neuropsychology have required her to adapt her approach to each individual client’s needs, which is something that the takes forward with her in her work at Priory. Ellie prides herself on utilising up-to-date, high-quality, and evidence-based scientific knowledge as the foundation of the treatment she delivers in therapy.
