About
As an addiction therapist, I bring a deep sense of empathy and understanding to those I support, founded in both my professional knowledge and my own lived experiences. I work with individuals facing challenges related to substance use, behavioural addictions, and the complex emotions that often accompany them. My approach is centred on creating a safe, non-judgemental space where clients feel heard, validated and empowered to explore their paths to recovery. Through compassionate guidance and tailored therapeutic interventions, I aim to help clients navigate their journey towards healing and sustainable change.
Position at Priory
I am an addiction therapist at Priory, where I have been working for 10 months. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am actively working towards accreditation. My responsibilities include working as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT), helping to deliver our inpatient programme, conducting assessments, providing therapeutic support to outpatients, and facilitating aftercare sessions to support long-term recovery.
Research interests
My primary research area of interest lies in the relationship between eating disorders and identity, which I explored in depth during my Master’s research. I am keen to pursue further training specifically in eating disorders to enhance my therapeutic practice. Additionally, I am considering future research on the impact of early childhood trauma, as I am passionate about deepening my understanding of how early experiences influence addiction and recovery pathways.
