Gina Rees

Addiction Counsellor

About

Gina graduated from the University of Leicester in 2016 with a degree in Drug and Alcohol Counselling. Following her studies, she worked within a private residential rehabilitation setting before moving into private counselling, where she has worked with individuals and couples for a number of years.

Gina has experience working across addiction, mental health and private counselling settings, giving her a broad understanding of the complex relationship between substance misuse, emotional wellbeing and interpersonal relationships. She has a particular interest in helping people understand the impact of their relationships and experiences on their emotional wellbeing and patterns of behaviour.

Gina uses an integrative approach, drawing on evidence-based therapeutic approaches including dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Through both one-to-one and group therapy, she supports individuals to develop greater self-awareness, build healthier coping strategies and explore meaningful and sustainable changes in their lives and relationships.

Position at Priory

At Beacon House, Gina is part of the team delivering the Flourish programme, supporting individuals through structured therapeutic interventions designed to develop insight, resilience and the practical skills needed to build lasting recovery.
