Jayne Drewett

Therapist

About

I am a qualified integrative therapist and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP), with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals in their emotional and mental health journeys. My approach is holistic, blending traditional counselling with therapeutic massage, allowing for a deeper connection between mind and body.

In addition to addiction counselling, I am an ITEC-qualified holistic therapist, and I incorporate mindfulness, visualisation, and body psychology techniques into my practice. These methods enhance self-awareness and emotional regulation, especially useful if addiction has been used as a means of managing anxiety, stress, or trauma. My goal is to help clients find balance and achieve a greater sense of wellbeing through personalised, compassionate care.

My approach focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, genuineness, and non-judgment. I provide a safe, confidential, and nurturing space where clients can feel comfortable exploring their emotions and working towards healing. I am an integrative practitioner offering therapy for addictions and general mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety and depression.

I have personal experience of dependency and have been in abstinence-based recovery myself for over two decades. I know the importance of having the right support at the right time, and aim to offer that to others.

Position at Priory

Jayne is a therapist in her position on the addictions treatment team.
She joined the team in 2025.

Training

Jayne has an extensive background of working in support settings since 2003.
Her work in the field of addictions started voluntarily, assessing and supporting clients in the prison system as a result of substance misuse for RAPT (rehabilitation of addicted prisoners trust).

Jayne has worked in community and inpatient settings in various roles including as a therapist and a bed manager. She previously worked in South London and Maudsley (SLAM) NHS inpatient detoxification unit before relocating and using her skills to support adults in residential rehabilitation.

Before taking a break from addictions settings, Jayne worked in central London at a private day rehabilitation facility. Jayne then spent two years working in a general mental health role providing online and telephone support to clients with stress, anxiety and depression.

Jayne has a keen interest in poly vagal theory and integration of somatic techniques in talking therapy.
