Jessica Healey

Art Therapist

About

Jessica is an art psychotherapist registered with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and The British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). She has NHS clinical experience in secure rehabilitation services and custodial settings as well as working with a range of complex mental health needs and delivering both individual and group therapy sessions.

She is passionate about supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, adversity, or loss. Her previous work has given her a strong understanding of how trauma can impact emotional wellbeing, personal relationships, and a person’s ability to feel safe and connected.

She is experienced in working with individuals who may find trust challenging, and she places great importance on creating a therapeutic space that feels safe, respectful, and free from judgement. Her approach is psychodynamic and trauma-informed, with a focus on the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for change. She brings a natural warmth, curiosity, and a reflective mindset to her work, supporting clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace.

Jessica uses art therapy as a way to support expression where words may feel challenging. She integrates an understanding of symbolism, non-verbal communication, and the creative process to help clients process emotions, make sense of their experiences, and explore their identity. Sessions are tailored to each individual, with careful attention to accessibility, cultural sensitivity, and psychological safety. Jessica is mindful of creating a containing and supportive environment, where clients feel able to engage in a way that feels manageable for them.
