About
I entered the world of psychotherapy so I could manage and eventually overcome the painful thoughts and emotions I had been experiencing.
If you’re on a familiar journey, then psychotherapy can help you explore these uncomfortable feelings that have held you back from living life to the full.
Life quite often throws the unexpected at us, whether in the form of relationships, either personally or professionally. We sometimes find it difficult to cope alone and need the support of a counsellor to help us through these difficult times.
Together we can work through any difficulties you may be experiencing, in a safe and confidential environment, where you will not be judged. Many of my clients present difficulties with relationships, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, work-related stress, bereavement, trauma, eating disorders and problems with alcohol or drugs.
Position at Priory
I am a psychotherapist with 10 years of clinical experience, trained in relational developmental integrative (RDI) therapy at the Sherwood Institute. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Supervision and have completed over 500 hours of continued professional development (CPD). I am excited to bring this integrative, relationship-focused, and developmentally-informed perspective to my work with Priory.
Research interests
One of my research interests has been self-compassion. Strong clinical evidence demonstrates that cultivating self-compassion is an effective therapeutic goal with measurable outcomes. A 2023 systematic review and meta-analysis found that therapies designed to increase self-compassion (such as compassion-focused therapy (CFT)) led to significant improvements for clients. The analysis showed these interventions were effective in increasing self-compassion and reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression.
