Julie Gates

Julie Gates is Life Works' shiatsu therapist, masseuse and music workshop facilitator.

Julie has been working in the mental health field for 20 years and has worked in several addiction rehabilitation centres as well as working with professional athletes. Julie has worked at Life Works for over three years and teaches the shiatsu, stretch and relaxation group, which incorporates acupressure, Qi Gong and meditation techniques to encourage natural relaxation.

Training

Julie qualified with the British School of Shiatsu and was trained in massage by Claire Maxwell Hudson.

Julie continues to complete professional development courses, and has completed courses including:

  • 'Who is at risk of suicide?'
  • 'CBT in Anger Management'
  • 'Use of Psychotherapy in a Clinical Setting'
  • 'Grief Counselling'
