Katie Green

Sessional Addiction Therapist

About

Katie is a qualified humanistic and integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Katie draws on person-centred, psychodynamic, attachment-based and trauma-informed approaches, tailoring her approach to her client’s individual needs. Working relationally, she supports clients to explore how past experiences and family dynamics may be influencing their present relationships and addictive patterns, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of themselves.

Katie has experience of working with a broad range of issues but has specialised in working with addictions for over 10 years. She has a private practice, working with individuals and couples, and understands that seeking help for addiction can feel daunting. She offers a warm, compassionate and supportive space where clients can feel safe to talk openly about their experiences at their own pace. Working collaboratively with clients, she helps them to identify and understand the emotional, relational and situational triggers that underpin their addiction, helping them to develop healthier ways of coping. She incorporating mindfulness and body-based interventions, which can be particularly helpful for grounding clients feeling overwhelmed by cravings or emotions.

Position at Priory

Katie started working at Priory in June 2025. She is a sessional addiction therapist providing online and face-to-face therapy to outpatients.

Training

In addition to her private practice, Katie worked at a local addiction charity receiving in-house training for over 4 years.

  • DipHIC in Humanistic & Integrative Counselling (BPCP)
  • Certificate in Working With Complexities of Trauma
  • Advanced Certificate in Couples Therapy
  • Certificate in Attachment Informed Couples Therapy
  • Awareness in Bereavement Care course - Cruse Bereavement
  • Registered member of BACP (MBACP)
