About

Kira Bradbeer is a qualified Counsellor and Therapist and is accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She believes the most important relationship we will ever have is with ourselves and feels privileged to be alongside people as they make impactful changes within themselves and their lives.

Kira has worked in the mental health field since 2003 and has gained experience of working within NHS talking therapy services, criminal justice settings and charitable organisations. She has experience of working with people who are having difficulties with stress, anxiety and depression.  She also has particular expertise in providing therapy to individuals with gambling addiction.

Kira believes in offering her clients a warm, friendly and non-judgemental space to openly explore their problems and draws upon a range of therapeutic modalities, including humanistic, cognitive-behavioural and mindfulness-based approaches.

Training

Kira graduated with a BSc in Psychology in 2003 and was fortunate to spend the next 5 years working within a specialist gambling addiction treatment centre, supporting people to recover and lead gambling-free lives. She then spent the following 10 years gaining therapy qualifications and working within NHS talking therapy services, helping people experiencing problems with stress, anxiety and depression.

More recently, Kira has been providing counselling and therapy to clients within the Probation Service and has also returned to her roots, delivering therapy once more to people with gambling addiction.

I believe emotional difficulties are part of life, but sometimes we don’t have all of the answers to support ourselves through difficult times or navigate our way out of unhelpful patterns of behaviour.  As a Counsellor and Therapist, I am here to provide you with an open and accepting space, so you can talk freely about what you’re struggling with and support you to make positive changes to your life.
