Leanne Cooper-Brown

Leanne has been working at Priory since October 2014. She is HCPC registered and is a member of both the British Association of Occupational Therapists and Sensory Integration Network. Leanne works collaboratively with the therapy team and SENCO at Priory Hospital Southampton.

I am a qualified Occupational Therapist with 16 years’ experience of working with children and young people with additional needs including those with autism, Aspergers syndrome, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), attachment issues, developmental delay, fragile X syndrome, hemiplegia, dyspraxia, hyper-mobility and anxiety.

Since completing my degree in 2008 I have sought further training in sensory integration therapy and I am a sensory integration practitioner. I am able to assess sensory issues, provide one-to-one therapy sessions and offer advice on sensory diets and the alert program. In addition, I am experienced in using tools such as PECS, TEACCH, HANDLE, ABA and the Son rise programme.

Recently I have completed Diploma’s in autism awareness, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and play therapy and I incorporate this in my practice.
