Lorraine Hickey

Integrative Psychotherapist

About

Lorraine is a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)-accredited integrative psychotherapist with over 9 years of experience providing therapy and supporting individuals with recovery, substance misuse, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD) and other complex mental health difficulties. She is passionate about recovery and works compassionately alongside clients to support meaningful and lasting change.

Working from a person-centred approach and integrating dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills, Lorraine provides a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard and understood. She tailors her approach to each individual’s needs, helping clients build emotional resilience, develop healthier coping strategies, and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence.

Lorraine also has experience supporting families affected by mental health difficulties and eating disorders. She is committed to empowering clients on their journey towards improved emotional wellbeing and recovery.

Position at Priory

Lorraine is a BACP-accredited psychotherapist who works across both the eating disorder inpatient ward and the general psychiatric ward. She facilitates therapeutic groups and provides individual one-to-one therapy sessions. In addition, she runs a DBT outpatient group.

Training

Lorraine is an BACP-accredited integrative psychotherapist with a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. She has completed specialist training in DBT through the British Isles DBT Programme, as well as additional training in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mantra-based approaches and eating disorders.

She is also a registered acupuncture specialist with the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA). Lorraine’s diverse training allows her to work integratively and tailor her approach to support clients with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
