Lucy is interested in developing her practice and training so she is more able to accommodate individuals in psychotherapy. She primarily uses a psychodynamic framework which focuses on looking at how past experiences and relationships can influence the way you interact with and manage your day to day life. She has also developed her training to specialise in trauma work using eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Lucy believes in providing a safe, respectful and compassionate space to help support you throughout the therapy.
Position at Priory
Lucy has been working at Priory Hospital Hayes Grove as a psychotherapist following a psychodynamic framework since November 2019. During this time, she has facilitated art psychotherapy groups for the eating disorder unit, Addiction Treatment Programme and the acute psychiatric unit. She has also been seeing patients from the eating disorder unit for one-to-one art psychotherapy sessions. Alongside this, Lucy has worked with outpatients as a talking psychotherapist including adult referrals as well as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). She is registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
I am currently working on a project in the community researching the impact of group art psychotherapy with those who are struggling with loss and bereavement.
