Position at Priory
Dr Apio is in a dual-role, with split responsibilities as inpatient consultant at Hayes Grove’s specialist eating disorder unit, and also running a regular outpatient clinic for private patients seeking expert mental health advice or admission to Hayes Grove’s private mental health ward.
Training
Dr Apio completed basic and higher specialist training in psychiatry, subsequently obtaining CCT in general adult psychiatry in 2015. Prior to a career in psychiatry he had extensive training and qualifications in family medicine, broadening his clinical skills beyond psychiatry.
Research interests
Interests include neurodevelopmental disorders including ADHD and autism, organic and non-organic mood disorders, early onset psychosis, psychopharmacology, addiction, eating disorders, and disorders of adult personality and its challenges
